how do you measure clothes to get waist and hip sizes? just wrap a tape measure around the inside? I've never found those stretched-flat measurements too useful, but I don't know the official method of taking measurements. Lots of ebayers asking for more specifics about my auctions, and I want to make sure I give them good information ...

If it's a reasonably fitted item, you could just put it on and measure with a measuring tape. The hip measurement is widest part of the hip, which varies by person and doesn't help too much with A-line skirts, but you can guess. Get out the protractor and make them put their geometry skills to use - skirt flares at a 14.6 degree angle..... :)

I can do this with some things, but some of them are too small ...

Having a measuring tape would also help :)
