(no subject)

I just spent the last hour cooking saltsa kima (ground lamb with butter, red wine, tomato paste, cinnamon, onion, garlic, and parsley) to be made into moussaka tomorrow. Now I'm sitting with a large block of manchego warming beside me, next to the remainder of the red wine. I'm listening to Dirty Vegas and there's a blue-rimmed glass of daffodils a few feet away.

Ahh. Weekend.

We're still figuring out what to do tonight. I feel lazy but open to possibilities .. we'll see.

I wanna get out of the house too. *ponders* Have you guys been to the Asgard yet? I sort of want to drop in there sometime and check it out, it's between Central and MIT, on Mass Ave in front of the Star.

Asgard is really pretty but when I was there around 5pm on a Friday one afternoon it was _hella_ smoky, and also totally packed by 5:30. But if you can find a time when it's not full of people, it's very comfy and the decor is a pleasant yuppified medieval celtic scheme that is easy on the eyes.

It sounded really busy when I called to get their hours that night, so it seems like week nights are right out. I'm probably going to try it out on a weekend afternoon sometime, hopefully that's better.

I was totally sold on the Asgard, they knew how to pour Guinness. Until a year ago when I saw a huge gaudy backlit panel at Logan proclaim it the-place-to-be. It seemed so fake.
