Last night, I finally gave up on trying to fall asleep at a reasonable hour and got up to read for a while. My head was too stuffed up to breathe while horizontal, I kept coughing every 2 minutes anyway, and I just had that annoying exhausted-but-not-sleepy thing happening anyway.

Feeling around for the lamp cord to turn it on, I knocked a glass off the coffee table and broke it. Somehow mrzero didn't wake up, though. Read for 2 hours before I felt even vaguely sleepy. Realized it's a good thing we don't sleep in the front bedroom, because an upstairs guy and a lady friend tromped around the stairs and had a loud conversation in the front hallway at 3am.

I think most of this miserable cold is past, but I won't be going anywhere much this weekend, I think. So happy birthday to all of you people having celebrations and parties, and I hope you all have a wonderful time!

I've been sick all week with probably the same thing you've got...but I'm really pissed because I was going to go to Ikea today...maybe I'll still go later...who knows.
