credit card query

I want to switch to one that has a decent rate and will actually do me some good (miles, or discounts, or something). No idea which to choose though, but I think I want a VISA .. anyone particularly happy with a card they've got? Recommendations? Thanks!

I have a card which gives me miles on American because American flies direct to all of the places I tend to go: Seattle, SF, Chicago, London.

If there's a particular airline you use frequently (for example, to go home -- I take Amtrak for that), I would go with their affiliated card.

I actually don't pay attention to the rate because I pay the balance in full each month.

yeah, I end up using USair a lot, but for most of my flying (conferences) I just have to take whatever's cheapest, so I'm not sure if I ought to go with a particular airline.

I also pay the balance in full each month and ignore the rate - except last month, when I paid all the other bills and somehow neglected the VISA and got hit with a bunch of charges because I'm an idiot.

I tend to buy a lot of stuff from LLBean, so having a MBNA LLBean card which earns me $10 coupons for LLBean stuff is good stuff.

Of course, Visa has been engaged in a war against websites with adult content, even that which is artistic and this is why paypal has had to shut down the accounts of anyone making any kind of art with nudity who charges for access to their site- and this is also why globill.com had to shut down.

Grrrr. Don't know if this matters to you but Visa is on MY shitlist.

i have a capital one visa which is only 9% apr...

and they always have deals like, "transfer all your payments here without a fee"

my favorite (and believe me that's saying something)
