I have a bag full of peat pots and seeds (flowers and vegetables) sitting next to me, and I want to go out and clear the dead stuff out of the garden and start some seeds inside and plan where to put things outside.
Instead I'm working, still. It's been satisfying these past few weeks and I've gotten a lot done, but right now the computer is not very appealing. Maybe by some miracle I can finish lots today and tonight, so I can spend a few hours outside tomorrow.

Date: 2003-04-12 03:02 pm (UTC)it was really motivating as we cleaned to see all the bulbs sprouted (but smothered in leaves) as well as all the plants from last year we cut back, re-growing. we did some last minute pruning to some of the shrubs that were damaged by water run off from the roof. the shrubs and trees were given root food about 2 weeks ago (the last time it was warm) and i can see the results already. finally, the yard smells like spring.
so, we got the entire front yard done.
tomorrow will be the back yard, less mulch.
and staking out the garden! we're extending it all the way back to the horse paddock and breaking it out into rectangular sections to make it easier to walk through (we'll use the rest of the stone path brick thingys). the butterfly bushes are full of buds.
if the weather continues to improve i'm going to start an aromatic garden.
mmmm...lilacs.
well, at least the property is fit to be seen now, it was an eye-sore.
