A few days ago, mrzero and I were in JCPenney looking for curtain rods. We wandered through the curtain display area for a while [endless fabric moguls blocking paths and lines of sight]. When we got separated for a moment, I ducked behind a display, planning to jump out and scare him. I saw movement around the edge of my display and started to jump out with a "RAAARRR!" but in the middle of the jump, at about "RAA-!" I realized the intruder was a middle-aged woman, not mrzero at all. I whipped around and pretended to be studying the curtain fabric intently. Clearly it was far too late for that, because she just started laughing after a moment of confused staring. mrzero walked up and I stammered an apology: "I'm sorry, I meant to jump out at him!"

She just started laughing harder and said, "Well, I'm glad to see the kid in you is still alive and well!" I'm pretty sure I was bright red.
