'A strange storm of tropical origin will move across Eastern New England. While this storm is very tricky to forecast, it has a history of producing a concentrated area of tropical downpours and thunder. We believe at least a core of rain and thunder is likely to hold together for Hartford and Springfield, to Southern NH and points southeast, falling periodically from Tuesday morning into the afternoon. Scattered afternoon showers elsewhere. Highs averaging near 80.'
