sure enough we're both sick. i guess that must mean we were both on the edge of sickness yesterday, and the cold wet day out on the boat tipped the balance but damaging our resistances enough so the cold germs could win.

think we're gonna stay here and be horizontal and read today. i'll try to do both work and fun reading, but I feel pretty dull-witted.

I'm so sorry you and S are sick. And that boat ride seemed truly awful. I do, however, heartily recommend taking a boat to George's , and then to Peddocks and the other harbor islands. Much (very cheap - the ferry round trip is $8) fun... in nice weather.

F and I both have colds. I spend yesterday ripping out the 7 privet bushes I've hated since I bought the condo, in preparation for bulb planting (tiger lilies, irises, cyclamen, firespray tulips, and crown imperials). It was a pyrric victory - the effort made my cold go into full swing by evening.

Here's to being horizontal!
