do you have it? if you're happy with it where did you get it?

I just did a little google searching but I ended up with hundreds of hits for individual providers, and what I really need is a general information page which I failed to find.

USAA provides me with renter's insurance, and I've been happy with it so far.

BTW, your clock is wrong.

I applied online to a bunch of random companies and only one responded, so that's what I went with.

I can't say exactly how they are since we thankfully haven't needed to put in a claim, but they use email, so that's a plus.

I've had Liberty Mutual since I moved here, the premiums are okay, they're nice on the phone, they give discounts for fire extinguishers, and will give you a package deal with car insurance if you need it. Haven't had to file a claim, though.

We have renters insurance with Liberty Mutual and I think we pay $99 a year for it. Militart and I also get our car insurance through them so I think we got deal because of that.

I have been renting since 1988 - never had it. Never needed it.

Ditto on SilentQ and Hellocatgirl. Dirtyknees and I both use Liberty Mutual for renter's (or the condo form of it though I used the renters before) as well as both our auto.

My brother had his place cleared out when he was living in Manhattan. He was pleased with the insurance's coverage.

We have Liberty Mutual as well for Home Owners. They where the nicest on the phone, and also happened to be the cheapest. They are giving us a discount on both the home owners and the car once we switch the car insurance over to them. Getting a Huge price break compared to anyone else. Have not filed a claim yet either though, so can't comment on that.

if the company [livejournal.com profile] mrzero uses for car insurance does renter's insurance, use them. pretty much all companies give you discounts for multiple policies.

I use Metpay and they're pretty good. They replaced my snowboard last year when it was stolen. The deductible is $250 and it's about $10 a month for $10k in coverage. They also insure my car and I do receive some kind of multiple policy discount which just about covers the cost of the insurance. So it's almost free. They hook you that way.

just to add the big ditto ot this, it saved me about 20% since I have my car and house insurance through commerce. The cost depends on what price level you insure your place at.

I've never had to file a claim, but I do know that if anything ever happened, I could replace my stuff without major worry.
