cuts

I trimmed down my friends list a bit for a couple of reasons. I have very little time to post here or to read other posts these days. It's not a particularly personal decision for any of the people I've cut, and it was pretty arbitrary in a lot of cases, so if it really bugs you, you can let me know. I mostly took out the people I don't know in real life, even when I have enjoyed reading their posts in the past ... just cannot keep up anymore. Anyway, best wishes.

actually I read them regularly until you switched mostly to shipboard life stuff, at which point I guess I didn't know what to respond. I haven't done much responding to the people I don't know personally for a long time now ... just a lot of changes in work stuff that keep me from spending as much time as I used to.

It's all good. I need to do the same thing; too many people, too little time, and far too much stuff that doesn't affect me in any way.

I'll probably keep reading your public posts for the time being, though. You have a way of saying interesting things. ;)

Yeah, at first I thought I'd just make a friends filter and only look at the ones I tend to read more carefully, but I feel like if someone's on your friends list there's ... sort of an expectation that you're going to be paying attention and keeping in touch in some way. I think I'd rather get cut openly than get filtered out secretly. So that's what I did.

In the interest of full disclosure, you're on my "people I don't know but who are worth reading" filter. The main one is "people I know who don't write piles of minutiae-filled posts". The third, which are likely soon on the chopping block, are "people who irritate me but are for some reason on my list".

I kind of lament that I don't seem to have the time to read the first filter's worth.
